All of our rooms have a four piece bath with both a bath and a shower. All rooms have a view of the water, and all are equipped with phones, a clock radio and color TV with cable.  We also provide a free daily newspaper.  All of our units are drive-up  rooms with free parking just outside the room. We also have extra parking for larger vehicles and boats beside the office. 

The Balmoral has several dedicated pet-friendly rooms.  Due to the large number of Nova Scotians with pet allergies, including one of the owners of the Balmoral, we have found it necessary to restrict pets to the Pet-Friendly rooms.  If you are staying in one of these rooms, we welcome your dog or cat.  If you have a pet alligator with you, perhaps you should call ahead!  Normally, we will not be able to accommodate your pet unless you reserve a Pet-Friendly room ahead of your visit.

We only ask you to be a responsible pet owner, taking care of your pet and cleaning up after it.  Bags are available for this purpose at the front desk if you forget your supply.  We  also ask that should you leave your pet alone in your room, please ensure that he or she is confined to a carrier, and that you are not gone long enough for them to be upset and disturb other guests.  There is a large field in the back of the motel which you may use to exercise your pet.

As your pet is a valued member of your family, we trust you will understand that Pets are charged as a third adult member of your party in the room.

All of our rooms have telephones which connect to the outside world through a switchboard in the Office.  Should you wish to make a call, press 9 for free local or Toll-Free service.  For long distance service, please dial 8 for a line which permits free long distance service.

Should you wish to call another guest room, extension numbers consist of 2 plus the room number.  So, for example, to reach room #10, dial 210.  Should you wish to have your family or friends call you, our phone system has an autoattendant which allows you to be reached from outside at anytime, as long as your caller knows your extension number.  We do not offer message service. 

 We cater to both smokers and non-smokers, with both smoking and smoke-free rooms available. Please note that our rooms are either dedicated smoking permitted or dedicated smoke-free, so it is important that you inform us of your preference when you make your booking. Smoking is not permitted inside our property, other than in designated smoking rooms, so the lobby, washrooms, and other public areas are definitely non-smoking.  As well, Nova Scotia law does not permit outdoor smoking within 4 metres, or approximately one car length, of any door or window of any building, and we would ask you to respect that during your stay.

When you check in, you will sign  a declaration that you agree to pay a room cleaning and recovery fee of $125 if you or your guests smoke in a non-smoking room during your stay.
